A single-day dark stained oak floor installation in North London, N4. The client wanted the tired carpet in this 12m² bedroom replaced with a warmer, harder-wearing floor — carried through into the built-in closet rather than stopping at the doorway, finished with new beading and a door threshold, and completed in one visit with the old carpet and all waste taken away.
The Challenge
The room had been carpeted for years, and lifting it revealed the usual picture underneath: old floorboards marked with paint and debris across the full 12m². The subfloor needed clearing and checking before anything new could go down. The client also wanted the floor to continue inside the built-in closet, which meant measuring and cutting around the frame and the pipework running through it. With a single day scheduled, the sequence mattered — carpet up, waste out and the new oak boards down without losing time.

The Results
